Small Space Design

This is where I lived for about three years in Florida. Small space living is actually pretty liberating. I feel less burdened having less stuff and it makes me buy quality over quantity. Plus, it's faster and easier to clean!

Let's Start the Tour:

Let's Start the Tour:

Kitchen The round counter functions as a dinette. Those foldable chairs from IKEA are easy to set up when I need them, and store flat against the wall when I don't. And a wine rack fit nicely on that skinny slice of wall. The music posted was designed and screen printed by a friend of mine.

Living Room This also functions as a guest room when I have a visitor since the ottoman stores extra linens and the couch folds out into a bed. Hanging my bike horizontally instead of vertically saves space and the cubbies below keep sports stuff organized. I created the zebra art myself.  The wire vase adds some style without seeming bulky. And you'd probably guess that plant in the lower right corner is fake - but would you guess it's actually a litter box?

The "Office" Thanks to modern technology, you don't need a ton of square footage to create a workspace. The rolling desk and cart from CB2 make this setup modular and the workout ball doubles as a bouncy yet comfy seat. (Or sometimes I just pull up the ottoman and sit on that.) The desk is big enough to accommodate my laptop, monitor and my tablet and other less frequently used items like the scanner get stored on the cart underneath.  Then there's my quirky, vegan safari collection on the wall. (Counter-clockwise from top: Office Antlers, Hudson the Hipster Lion and Kudisha the Kudu.)

The Bedroom I wanted something whimsical that I would love waking up to each morning so I went with a slightly enchanted forest theme. The headboard has storage compartments for housing chargers and books and mounting shelves on the wall instead of using side tables makes the space feel larger and less cluttered.  I love bright, white hotel-style bedding so I opted for a subtle, white, flower-embroidered duvet that wouldn't clash with the busier wall design.

The Bathroom I can barely turn around in the bathroom so every inch of space counts. I love this magnetic organizer that is meant for the kitchen, but also does a great job of storing those small, essential bathroom tools.
